Assisting with daily routines with practical support, strengthening personal independence

Participant Assistance & Care (PAC) provides direct assistance to individuals who need help with personal needs and everyday activities because of a disability or other support-related circumstances. It may be useful when a person needs hands-on or routine assistance to participate in daily activities at home or in the community while maintaining as much independence as possible.

How It Works

PAC may include:

  • Assistance with personal care and daily routines
  • Support with activities of daily living
  • Assistance with mobility and movement-related needs
  • Support with household or routine tasks related to the participant
  • Assistance with community participation
  • Direct support based on the individual’s identified needs

What to Expect

PAC is generally provided during the individual’s regular daily activities, allowing assistance to occur where support is actually needed. The type and amount of assistance depend on the person’s circumstances and authorized service needs. Support may be adjusted as the individual’s abilities, routines, or daily support requirements change.
